Creating and Maintaining a Deployment Database
It is never known what is needed until it is known what is existing. Maintaining an accurate database of available towers (privately and publicly owned), for future infrastructure collocations, and of publicly owned lands for the potential use of new tower construction is vital to the success of managing the deployment of wireless infrastructure.
The database serves several purposes. First, mapping the existing tower locations aid to reduce tower proliferation by encouraging collocation on known existing facilities. Knowledge of existing tower sites empowers the community to direct wireless service providers to these existing facilities. Second, identifying and mapping existing infrastructure locations provides current deployment patterns necessary for predicting future locations by the wireless industry. Third, locating the public lands available for new antenna locations provides a readily available location in areas where existing towers may not exist; or may not be structurally adequate for collocation.
CityScape can produce a tower inventory and assessment for your entire community so that you can have the best planning tools accessible to your planning department.
